Zimbabwe's rising star Jah Prayzah launched his fourth album, titled Tsviriyo at a colourful event at Jazz 105 on Wednesday night.
The first copy of the CD was auctioned and those with deep-pockets jostled to grab it.
Initially the sale appeared to have settled at $1 000.
It was Chiyangwa who had the crowd awestruck when he said he would buy the CD for a staggering $12 000.
It could not be ascertained whether or not the money will be handed over in cash or the musician will be seeing himself getting the pledge in the form of a house or residential stand.
The 10-track album features superstar Oliver Mtukudzi and Progress Chipfumo on the songs Sisiriya and Yambuka Rukova.
Jah Prayzah takes the role of social commentator touching on various themes that have a bearing on day-to-day life.
