Dancer Beverly Sibanda, popularly known as Bev, impressed fans on her first visit to Chiredzi, Zimbabwe.
Overwhelmed by the outpouring of her fans, Bev had to perform for the third day despite having initially planned a two-day show.
On that particular Friday, Bev’s show coincided with Nicholas Zakaria’s show which was held at Chitsanga Hall but Beverly attracted more fans.
The Sexy Angels front lady said some disturbances happened on Sunday when she staged her third show as people whom she called “haters” tried to disrupt her show by unplugging speakers.
“Other beer halls were left empty as people joined me at Masiza Nengere and I think that’s the main reason why haters disconnected the public address system,” she said.
“I enjoyed myself, the dancers are very good. The only problem with these artistes is they think Harare is the only place with fans but we proved Beverly wrong. She had to perform for three days because we want to see her perform,” Faniro Chivasa, a Chiredzi fan said.
Three people were seriously injured as they jostled to catch a glimpse of the raunchy dancer.
So ecstatic were the entertainment starved fans such that some of them ended up watching Bev and her Sexy Angels hanging precariously on tree branches and one of them fell.
Two other people were injured on Saturday when the police attempted to disperse the crowd that wanted to gain free entrance into the show.
On Friday, the show ended prematurely as the crowd overpowered security, according to Bev’s manager Harpers Mapimhidze.
“However all the shows were successes and we were very impressed with the turnouts. Beverly escaped unscathed. She thanked the people of Chiredzi despite her shows being marred by crowd trouble,” said Mapimhidze.
